𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) jointly oversee the ceremonial payout for participants of the Cash-for-Work Program, dubbed as Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDDS), at the Continuing Education Center (CEC), 25 January.

As part of the agreement with the government, TAU students and alumni will render work for four (4) hours daily in three months. KALAHI-CIDDS aims to alleviate poverty through efficient delivery of services, good governance, and poverty reduction, thus enabling communities to improve social services and enhance community participation in local planning, budgeting, and project implementation.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Educators from Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) six colleges attend the Training on Reducing Affective Filters in the Classroom at the TAU Agritourism Hostel on 23 and 25 January.

 Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) and Office of Curriculum and Instruction (OCI), the two-day session is divided into three modules focusing on fear management strategies and error correction strategies to ensure active class engagement. Dr. Leah S. Corpuz of LASC Learning Solutions, serves as resource speaker.

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | OVPFA, GAD finalize policies on gender-based misconduct

Convening members of Gender and Development (GAD) focal point system and Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) of Sexual Harassment (SH) cases, Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of Vice President for Finance and Administration (OVPFA), and Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, GAD Director, led the formulation of the CODI-SH manual at Subic Grand Seas Resort in Subic, Zambales on 8-9 December 2023.

Conducted to integrate the salient provisions of RA 11313, otherwise known as Safe Space Act, Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service (2017 RACCS), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum No. 3, series 2022 or CHED Guidelines on Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in Higher Education to Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) CODI-SH Manual, the two-day session also laid the foundation for internal collaboration among TAU’s top leadership, middle managers, and staff.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | To recognize Tarlac Agricultural University - College of Education’s (TAU - CED) outstanding performance in the 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) in Elementary Education, the TAU Administrative Council, led by its President, Dr. Max P. Guillermo, presents a bamboo plaque to TAU - CED Dean, Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, and the faculty staff during the flag-raising ceremony, 22 January.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | In a solemn and spiritually uplifting gathering, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) brings together university officials, graduating students, parents, and faculty along with non-teaching staff for an Ecumenical Service at the TAU Student and Alumni Center on 19 January.

Led by Dr. Danilo N. Oficiar, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (VPSAS), said interfaith worship focuses on Dr. Oficiar’s speeches which underscore celebration of life’s lessons such as leaving the past behind and concentrating on the promising journey ahead as 115 candidates for graduation stand on the cusp of a new chapter in their lives.

“As you step into the future, be relentless in your pursuit of knowledge for it is the foundation upon which true innovation thrives.” Such were the words of Dr. Max P. Guillermo, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President, as he motivated 115 graduates of the First Midyear Commencement Exercises held at the Student and Alumni Center, 19 January.

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | Israeli Ambassador, govt. officials back inaugural fair on high-value crops

For the fourth time since assuming the highest post in the Israeli Embassy to the Philippines in 2021, Ambassador Ilan Fluss visited Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) to convey his support for the culminating ceremony of the Vegetable Derby and Harvest Festival on 10 January.

Recalling how his country is helping to make progress in Philippine agriculture, Ambassador Fluss emphasized the role of innovation in ensuring food sustainability. “Using Israeli technologies in agriculture, we hope to minimize input and maximize output,” Ambassador Fluss underscored while directly addressing the 47 completers of the training conducted in conjunction with the five-month activity.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Fourth-year students of the College of Business and Management (CBM) attend the Pre-Deployment Orientation Seminar, organized by the Placement Services Unit, at the Continuing Education Center (CEC) on 18 January.

The event aims to prepare the students for their on-the-job training (OJT) and guide them in fulfilling internship requirements. Invited resource speakers also spearhead discussions on ethical behavior, stress management, and workplace harassment.
