𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Officials from the Department of Agriculture (DA) led by the Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. Constante “Dante” J. Palabrica meets with the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) officials at the TAU AgriTourism Hostel Function Hall for possible collaboration in advancing research in multiple ovulation and embryo transfer technologies for livestock, 19 May.

Usec. Palabrica along with Dr. Benjamin C. Albarece, Assistant Secretary for Ruminant Livestock; Dr. Claro N. Mingala, Director of the DA-National Livestock Program and Member of the Board of Veterinary Medicine Examiners; and Dr. Noel Soliman, City Veterinarian of Tarlac City review plans with  Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, TAU President;  Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez, College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) Dean;  Dr. Mervin Pajante,  CVM Adjunct Professor; and Dr. Allan Jeffrey E. Francia, CVM Assistant Professor to align the University’s resources with the goals to improve agricultural productivity and inspect the University’s Artificial Insemination (AI) laboratory’s capacity to conduct the assisted reproductive biotechnology project funded by the DA’s National Livestock Program (DA-NLP).

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) joins TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson and several University officials for a campus tour at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in the morning of 19 May. 

The Chair of TAU’s Board or Regents (BOR) visits key facilities, including the University Oval, the College of Veterinary Medicine’s (CVM) Diagnostic Teaching Hospital, the College of Agriculture and Forestry’s (CAF) Vegetable Garden, the Agro-Biosystems Research and Development Laboratory Building, and the Rootcrops Research and Training Center. 

The tour aims to familiarize Commissioner Apag with TAU’s existing facilities, technologies, and research projects and spotlight TAU’s infrastructure and innovations, demonstrating their alignment with sustainable development goals and grassroots extension and research initiatives.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) - College of Education (CED) empowers future educators through a legal literacy training held at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center, on 16 May. With the theme "Empowering Future Educators: Training on Essential Laws for Fostering Safe Learning Environments," the seminar underscores the crucial role of educators in protecting students’ rights and promoting inclusive, abuse-free classrooms.

Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of Student Placement Office, discusses the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act (RA 7877) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), using real-life examples and role-playing to illustrate how harassment occurs and how to respond while Atty. Andrey Bjon RDS. Castañeda, Legal Assistant, explains the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse Act (RA 7610) and the Anti-Bullying Act (RA 10627), reminding CEd students that schools must serve as safe zones for all learners.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | On the afternoon of 19 May, CHEd Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III, accompanied by Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson and other University officials, continues the guided tour of the TAU campus.

During the visit, Commissioner Apag, who also chairs TAU’s Board of Regents (BOR), inspects critical facilities such as the IT Center, E-Bamboo Facility, SMART Agriculture Center, and Bambusetum. He also engages with University employees, inquiring about the recent developments in their respective fields of expertise.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | The Philippine Seed Industry Association (PSIA), East-West Seed Philippines, Ramgo Seeds, Enviro Scope Synergy Inc., Advanta Seeds Philippines, and Pilipinas Kaneko Seeds Corporation, join forces for a collaborative site visit to Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) SMART Agriculture Center, 9 May. 

To prepare for the upcoming Vegetable Derby and Harvest Festival, this initial gathering brings together industry leaders and agricultural experts who will spotlight cutting-edge seed technologies and sustainable farming solutions. Notably, Ambassador Ilan Fluss of the Israeli Embassy to the Philippines attended the inaugural activity last year, reaffirming his steadfast support for agricultural innovation and Filipino-Israeli partnerships.

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) community welcomed Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Commissioner and TAU Board of Regents (BOR) Chair Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III during a flag-raising ceremony at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center on 19 May. The event marked the Commissioner’s first official visit to the University after being sworn to office early this year.

A highlight of the program was the unveiling of TAU’s newly approved strategic framework, jointly led by Commissioner Apag, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, and the University’s three vice presidents. Inaugurated during the 9th University Charter celebration, the ten-year roadmap aims to optimize academic advancement, research innovation, and community engagement.

Dr. Salunson emphasized the significance of the Commissioner’s presence, describing it as a strong gesture of support and collaboration between CHEd and TAU. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the TAU administration and stakeholders.

CHRONICLES | TAU-CEd hosts GCEd conference, advances global citizenship in Central Luzon 

Solidifying its role as the Global Citizenship Education (GCEd) hub of Region 3,  the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) - College of Education (CEd) organized the 2nd GCED Research Conference 2025 with the theme “Beyond Four Walls: Redefining Basic and Higher Education through Global Insights” via Zoom on 15-16 May.

Bringing together educators, school administrators, and CEd graduate program students, the conference equipped the participants with cross-cultural teaching skills, expanding role in GCEd through plenary sessions focusing on technology and linkages, policy frameworks, equity and access, curriculum innovation, and localized adaptations of educational models .

In collaboration with West Mindanao State University (WMSU), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universitas Mataram in Indonesia, and DepEd Tarlac Province, said conference also sought to develop strategies and integrate GCEd into basic and higher education systems.
