Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) has once again gained international acclaim as its groundbreaking research on smart onion farming secured the Best Presentation Award at the 6th Asia Joint Conference on Computing (AJCC2025) at the Kansai Kenshu Center in Osaka, Japan, from 21-24 April.
Competing against top-tier research from across the continent, the project stood out for its innovative approach to revolutionizing agricultural productivity through smart farming technologies.
The award-winning study, titled “Development of Smart Technologies for Profitable Onion Production,” was funded by the Department of Science and Technology - Grants-in-Aid (DOST-GIA) and presented by Mr. Jayson J. Elenzano, Associate Professor III and project member, under the leadership of Dr. Amy Lizbeth J. Rico, General Manager of SMART Agriculture Center.
