CAPTURED IN LENS | Twenty-eight Presidents of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Officers In-Charge (OIC), and their assistants, under the leadership of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Commissioner Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III convene for a forum and training-workshop hosted by the Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) and co-hosted by Cotabato State University (CotSU) in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, 9-10 June.
Anchored on the theme “28 Strong Leaders Committed To One Vision, One Goal. Forging a Unified Vision for Philippine Higher Education: The First SUCs Executive Forum 2025,” the gathering urges SUC leaders to engage in discussions on SUC board protocols, updated legal and procedural requirements, addressing legal concerns, familiarizing themselves on the 20 revised rules on Administrative Cases issued by the Civil Service (RRACS) and CHED, digitalization in CHED processing of data, SUC leveling, monitoring of Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP), strategic directions of SUCs in attaining their goals, and highlighting the balance of strong leadership and mental awareness for SUC leaders.
Meanwhile, representing the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) are University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson and Board Secretary Mr. Sonny A. Santos who both actively participate in the two-day event that also focuses on cultivating the leadership skills of SUC officials and institutionalizing effective governance practices.
