Effective Academic Year 2024–2025, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) awards Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC No. 38, S. 2025) for its Bachelor of Animal Science (BAS) program. This recognition follows TAU’s successful compliance evaluation conducted by CHED on 3 December 2024.Β

Serving as CHED’s official confirmation, the COPC affirms that TAU’s program adheres to national academic and institutional quality standards. As a key component of CHED’s quality assurance framework, this certification guarantees that students are provided with consistent, high-quality education in line with academic policies and performance indicators set for higher education institutions.

Dr. Sinamar E. Estudillo, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), expressed gratitude to the TAU administration, especially to University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, for his unwavering commitment and institutional support throughout the compliance process. Dr. Salunson’s proactive leadership and prioritization of academic quality made a clear impact in securing this milestone for CAF.

β€œFinally, BAS now has a COPC. We can refocus our efforts and resources in ensuring that our academic services are on par with global benchmarks, especially in instruction, research, and the overall welfare of both students and faculty,” Dr. Estudillo remarked.

This recent development strengthens CAF’s standing as a stronghold of academic excellence in agriculture, reinforced by its Center of Development (CoD) status. The College continues to refine its curricular offerings and faculty development programs while laying the groundwork for further certification of graduate programsβ€”a forward-moving strategy to expand its leadership in agricultural education and research across Northern Luzon.

As of this writing, CAF awaits the official results from CHED for its graduate programs evaluated on 19 June. These include the Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science, major in Poultry Production, and Doctor of Philosophy in Agronomy, as well as the Master of Science in Agriculture, with specializations in Animal Science and Agronomy.
