The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) - College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), led by its Dean, Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez, organized a three-day celebration of its long-held advocacy on animal welfare through seminars and games from 26 to 28 February.
ย
Celebrating the bond between humans and animals, the event kicked off with a parade of various pets, followed by a pet show led by the Veterinary Student Achieversโ Society (VSAS) TAU Chapter at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center. Throughout the first day, CVM students engaged in informative seminars on aquaculture and emerging trends in veterinary medicine, hands-on workshops, and traditional games like โLaro ng Lahi,โ to name a few.
ย
Various organizations from CVM also offered animal healthcare services for pets and stray animals, such as anti-rabies vaccination and deworming, free of charge at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Diagnostic Center.
ย
On the second day, the CVM family started with a color fun run and continued with exhibition games facilitated by student leaders and freelancers.
ย
The event concluded with the much-anticipated pageant of Mr. and Ms. CVM, followed by a socialization night where TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson praised Dr. Ramirez for initiating activities that foster student growth. He also commended the students and organizations for their dedication to pursuing the veterinary course and reminded them to embrace the journey of learning.
ย
โVeterinary medicine is more than a profession; it is a calling that requires both passion and skill. As you immerse yourselves in this field, remember to enjoy every step of the way,โ he stated.
