Five BS Psychology students from Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) have successfully passed the Certified Human Resource Associate (CHRA)โ„ข examination administered by the Human Resource Educators' Association of the Philippines (HREAP).ย 

TAU takers recorded a 100% passing rate while the national passing rate stood at 76.45%. The passers from TAU include Batch 58's Ciara Jhenell C. Rivera, Jenny Rose S. Bajade, and Marcus Kean Q. Catacutan, as well as Batch 59's Angelica Mae V. Gaerlan and Diana Mae G. Castro.ย 

CAS Dean Dr. Sherwin S. Alar praised the CAS students for acing the said certification exam. โ€œWe will continue to support you in every way we can,โ€ Dr. Alar said, adding that the Department of Psychology, primarily, will provide more training and coaching sessions for future takers to develop skills relevant to human resource work.

In addition, Dr. Alar mentioned that his office is exploring ways on how to provide incentives for those who already passed and those who will make the cut in future test editions.

Meanwhile, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson conveyed his commendations to CAS. โ€œI applaud your tireless efforts in ensuring that your graduates and students get the best career opportunities through avenues like the CHRA test,โ€ Dr. Salunson stated, further emphasizing the vital role of CAS leadership and teaching force in the studentsโ€™ long-term academic and career development.

The CHRAโ„ข exam evaluates core HR knowledge in a three-hour test covering recruitment, training, compensation, performance, risk management, and labor laws. Open to HR or psychology graduates, degree holders with HR experience, HR faculty, and people managers, this certification is widely recognized in the field.ย 

CAS also announces that interested applicants even from the College of Business and Management (CBM) may register through HREAP for upcoming schedules or seek assistance from their professors.

Last December 2024, TAU alumna Cheska D. Orosco secured the second place in CHRA, recording an impressiveย  rating of 92.75%.
