In its continued pursuit of quality improvement and excellence, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) - Quality Assurance (QA) office launched its Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Team and conducted a collaborative meeting to align with the national Criteria for Performance Excellence at the TAU AgriTourism Function Hall, 21 October.

Per memo 212, s. 2025, Composition of the PQA Task Force, representatives from different colleges and offices gathered for a brainstorming and sharing of ideas that focused on the seven PQA categories: Organizational Profile, Leadership, Strategy, Customers, Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Operations, Workforce, and Results.ย 

Each category team comprises designated champions, resource persons, writers, documentation staff, and review committee members carefully selected for their expertise and capacity to contribute to the universityโ€™s PQA self-assessment and evidence development.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) representatives Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), together with Mr. Abner P. Maรฑebog Jr., Technical Staff for International Mobility of ELIA, participated in the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) National Review Meeting held at Batangas State University (BatSU) from 7-10 October 2025.

The program began with welcoming remarks from the representative of Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of Batangas State University (BatSU), followed by an inspirational message delivered by Dr. Rogelio T. Galera Jr., Regional Director of CHED Region IV.

The event primarily aimed to assess each HEIโ€™s progress in student and faculty mobility within the ASEAN region, as well as to strengthen the programโ€™s effectiveness in facilitating academic exchange. It also sought to share best practices, identify common challenges in student mobility, build capacity among participating institutions, enhance internationalization efforts, and promote academic mobility across Southeast Asia.

Dr. Amy Lizbeth J. Rico, Manager of the Tarlac Agricultural University - Smart Agriculture Center and a faculty member of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), delivered a lecture to international participants during the Global Dialogues III: Climate Change and Environment, an event organized through the Enhancing English through Global Citizenship program of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) on 3 October 2025, via Zoom.

Through this international engagement, Dr. Rico was able to share her expertise with students from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, the Philippines, and the United States of America (USA), offering valuable insights on smart agriculture and the impacts of climate change.

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) representatives participated in the annual General Assembly of Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Philippines, hosted by De La Salle University (DLSU) via online on 26 September 2025.

Said TAU representatives were Mr. Jerome L. Duque, Information Officer III of the Information Unit (IU), and Ms. Caroline N. Gabis, faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and Chief for Partnership Development of the External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) Office.

The event featured plenary sessions on the United Nationsโ€™ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and presentations of the SDG City Project. During the sessions, Mr. Duque learned more about SDG 2: Zero Hunger, while Ms. Gabis focused on SDG 4: Quality Education. The event also served as a platform to foster networks among various members who attended the meeting and to acknowledge the SDSN Youth Philippines.
