𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | 5 CAF, 1 CVM faculty members fly to Indonesia for int’l training on cage-free systems

Five (5) faculty members from the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and one (1) from the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) of Tarlac Agricultural University traveled to Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 9 - 15 July 2023 to take part in the International Training on Cage-Free Innovation and Welfare Hub (ITCFIWH), an international training hosted by the Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) as part of its 7th Summer Course Program anchored on the theme, "Challenges and Opportunities for Livestock and Agricultural Production in Responding to the Issue of the Global Food Crisis."

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | TAU agri studs join Agri Youth Congress 2023, bag awards in various agri-related tilts

Several aspiring agricultural leaders from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) in Central Luzon and Calabarzon, such as those from the Tarlac Agricultural University - College of Agriculture and Forestry (TAU-CAF), convened at the Agricultural Training Institute - International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH) Campus, Lipa City, Batangas, 24 October 2023 for the Agri-Youth Student Congress 2023.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Hosting a send-off activity for its on-the-job trainees (OJT), the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), in collaboration with the Association of Future Psychologists (AFP), conducts a Pinning Ceremony for BS Psychology and AB Economics students at the Continuing Education Center (CEC) on 1 February.

Meanwhile, to ensure competence and commitment of its OJTs, CAS also steers a Pre-Deployment Orientation Seminar at the Farmers’ Training Center (FTC) on 31 January. During the program, experts and guest alumni explain the importance of professionalism, ethics, and resilience in creating a productive and inclusive workplace.

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | TAU forges links with second Ilocos Norte HEI

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) has found another partner in the Province of Ilocos Norte.

Northwestern University (NWU), a higher education institution (HEI) in Laoag City, has agreed to establish ties with TAU, especially with the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), through a virtual signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 29 January.

Leaders of both HEIs honored the ceremony. Dr. Max P. Guillermo, TAU President, and Atty. Ferdinand S. Nicolas, NWU President, exchanged messages prior to the formalization of agreement.

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | DET holds orientation on extension protocols, guidelines

In the pursuit of maintaining the quality provision of its services, the Department of Extension and Training (DET) convened some 60 faculty-extension service providers from the six colleges of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) for the “Strengthening the Capability of Faculty Extension Service Providers Through an Orientation-Briefing” at the Farmers’ Training Center (FTC) on 26 January.

Led by Dr. Erlie SD. Totaan, DET Acting Director, the orientation aimed to familiarize the participants with the various quality forms of the department, review and revise existing protocols, if needed, to address the needs, to address the needs of clientele/service providers, and improve the accuracy and consistency in the submission of records serving as one of the bases in claiming credit for the delivery of extension activities and projects.

𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒 | TAU, ISPSC convene officials for university operations dialogues

In an effort to benchmark on each other’s best practices on institutional management, officials from Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) and Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) engaged in a collaborative discourse at the Bamboo Training Center (BTC) Function Hall on 26 January.

Stressing how cooperation became the linchpin sustaining the whole university system in his solidarity message, TAU President, Dr. Max P. Guillermo, underscored the value of the “we” mentality. “All of our simple achievements would not have come to fruition if not for the contributions of the people you see today and many others whose names may not be even mentioned,” Dr. Guillermo emphasized.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) jointly oversee the ceremonial payout for participants of the Cash-for-Work Program, dubbed as Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDDS), at the Continuing Education Center (CEC), 25 January.

As part of the agreement with the government, TAU students and alumni will render work for four (4) hours daily in three months. KALAHI-CIDDS aims to alleviate poverty through efficient delivery of services, good governance, and poverty reduction, thus enabling communities to improve social services and enhance community participation in local planning, budgeting, and project implementation.

𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | Educators from Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) six colleges attend the Training on Reducing Affective Filters in the Classroom at the TAU Agritourism Hostel on 23 and 25 January.

 Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) and Office of Curriculum and Instruction (OCI), the two-day session is divided into three modules focusing on fear management strategies and error correction strategies to ensure active class engagement. Dr. Leah S. Corpuz of LASC Learning Solutions, serves as resource speaker.
