Today, 1 December, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) community gathered in front of the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center for the monthly flag-raising ceremony, uniting the entire workforce to formally welcome the new month with shared purpose and renewed commitment.
Led by the College of Business and Management (CBM), under the leadership of its Dean, Dr. Erlie SD. Totaan, the assembly opened with the singing of patriotic hymns and the recitation of pledges.
The Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) then recognized the December birthday celebrators, followed by a communal prayer.
Representing Sociocultural Development Office (SDO) Director Prof. Cecile L. Lapitan, SDO Assistant Director Engr. Donna Fay Labrador proudly announced the recent international feat of the TAU Choral, which brought home honors from the 2025 Choral Festival and Competition in Busan, South Korea.
She also highlighted another cultural milestoneβthe TAU Belenismo entry, themed βBiyahe TAUβ, which placed Top 3among 52 entries across five categories in this yearβs province-wide Belenismo celebration. Engr. Labrador likewise acknowledged the winners of the Culture and the Arts Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAASUC) 2025 competitions.
Both the TAU Choral and TAU Belenismo core groups expressed their gratitude to the TAU Administration led by Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, as well as to all individuals who supported their artistic journeys.
Meanwhile, Information Unit Chief Mr. Nelmar A. Mallari announced the permanent deletion of a duplicate TAU Facebook Page, emphasizing that https://www.facebook.com/tarlacagriculturaluniversity/ is the universityβs sole official page.
The ceremony continued with Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), who recognized CVM students who earned distinctions during the 6th International Conference on Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine Students (ICAVETS) β International Veterinary Scientific Competition (VEIN) 2025, hosted online by Brawijaya University, Indonesia.
Marking another major achievement, Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), announced TAUβs notable performance in the AppliedHE 2026 Ranking for Asian Public Higher Education Institutions, celebrating a significant leap for the university in global standing.
Sports and Development Office Director Dr. Emerson B. Cuzzamu, together with Supreme Student Council (SSC) President Ms. Sean Nicole P. Chico, also recognized the champions and top performers of the recently concluded college intramurals.
Adding to the string of recognitions, Dr. Joven T. Valdez, NSTP Director, shared that the University received the Blood Services Platinum Award from the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for its exceptional support to PRCβs humanitarian initiatives.
To further promote preparedness, Mr. Ronimo G. Ubaldo, University Disaster Risk Reduction Management (UDRRM) Coordinator, reminded the community of the scheduled Earthquake Drill on 3 December.
Closing the ceremony, Dr. Salunson delivered a powerful message underscoring the importance of unity, collective responsibility, and loyaltyβnot to individuals, but to the University and its mission.
