The Tarlac Agricultural University - College of Education (TAU-CEd) was formally recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on 10 January as one of the nationβs premier teacher-education institutions (TEIs) for its outstanding performance in the September and November 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
In a ceremony held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, TAU-CEd was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for ranking Eighth Place nationwide in the Elementary Level category for schools with 50 to 99 examinees. The College achieved a remarkable 95.31% passing rate, with 61 of 64 examinees successfully passing the rigorous examinations.
The recognition is especially significant as TAU-CEd was one of only two Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the entire Central Luzon region to be honored in the Elementary Level category for the said LEPT cycle.
The awards were presentedΒ during a regional oathtaking ceremony for new professional teachers in Region III. The event featured the awarding of medals and certificates of distinction to individual topnotchers and top-performing schools, a highlight of the annual gathering.
In a heartfelt message following the ceremony, Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, TAU-CEd Dean, shared her joy and gratitude. βThank you, dear graduates, for bringing pride and honor to our beloved TAU - CEd. Ama, alam kong Ikaw ang may gawa nito. Salamat po sa favor! (Father, I know You made this happen. Thank You for the favor!),β Dr. Olivares wrote on Facebook.Β Β Β Β
Meanwhile, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson praised the TAU-CEd community, calling the honor "another breakthrough" for the institution. "This distinction as a regional benchmark for excellence celebrates the unfailing efforts of our faculty and administration and, above all, the hard work and sacrifices of our graduates, who are now called to steward the future of our nation's educational system," Dr. Salunson stated.
Also, the Teacher Education Council (TEC) recognized TAU-CEd last week as one of the countryβs 35 Centers of Excellence (CoE) for Teacher Education, and one of only three COEs in Central Luzon, for earning global feats through placements in various international university rankings, CHED distinction for excellence in quality assurance in teacher education, and an above-national passing rate in the 2024 and 2025 LEPT for both Elementary and Secondary levels. As of presstime, TEC is accepting applications for the next COE-designated TEIs.
