The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has released the results of the August 2025 Food Technologists Licensure Examination (FTLE), and the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), through the Philippine Association of Food Technologists (PAFT) Inc. - TAU Chapter, confirmed the achievement of producing another licensed food technologist with a rating of 81.25%.
Ms. Jocel Ashley B. Marcelo is one of the 11 first-time takers from TAU who joined the August 2025 Food Technologists Computer-Based Licensure Examination in the National Capital Region (NCR). She is now among the 586 successful examinees out of 931 candidates nationwide.
This accomplishment strengthens the legacy of the College of Agricultureโs (CAF) Department of Food Science and Technology. TAU recorded a 7.14% institutional performance rate for this cycle, while its first-time takers garnered a 9.09% passing rate. In addition, six examinees obtained conditional status.
Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Marcelo shared her relief and gratitude after receiving the results. โAlthough the exam was really challenging, it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life,โ she stated.
โIt was a tough decision, actually. At first, I was hesitant to take the exam but then I decided to have the courage, time, and determination because I know that this step is necessary for my personal and professional growth. Simply finishing the exam felt like an achievement. I never imagined that I would actually become one of the successful passers,โ she added.
Dr. Sinamar E. Estudillo, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), extended her commendation to Ms. Marcelo. โI would like to express my utmost congratulations to Ms. Ashley Marcelo who successfully hurdled the recent FTLE. I am hopeful that all others will take this as a challenge and inspiration to exert full effort to pass the licensure examination. This stands as a challenge both to graduates and mentors as well,โ she remarked.
TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson also conveyed his pride and support, highlighting the importance of licensure success to the universityโs academic reputation. โThe achievement of Ms. Marcelo is a testament to the perseverance of our students, the guidance of their mentors, and the strength of our programs. I commend her for her determination and extend my encouragement to all TAU graduates to continue striving for excellence in their chosen fields,โ he emphasized.
