The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) has commenced the virtual accreditation survey for Tarlac Agricultural Universityβs (TAU) Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) program today, 25 September.
This survey visit represents a crucial step for the University as the BSABE program seeks to attain Level IV Phase 2, Cycle 2 accreditation, one of the highest levels of academic quality recognition awarded by AACCUP, signifying a program of exceptional standards.
During the online opening program, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon D.C. Salunson formally welcomed the accrediting team. He emphasized the value of external perspectives, stating that expert insights would serve as a definitive blueprint for the University's continued pursuit of excellence in agricultural and biosystems education.
The core of the three-day event involves a detailed presentation and evaluation of the program's accomplishments. The assessment will focus intensely on five key areas: the program's research output, the performance of its graduates, community service initiatives, international linkages and consortia, and the strength of its internal planning processes.
Each of these five areas is being presented by a chairperson and a team of faculty members from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET). The process is being led by the head of the accrediting team, Prof. Rommel Octavius R. Nuestro.
The accreditation visit will conclude on Friday, 26 September, with an exit conference. This final session will feature a comprehensive report from the AACCUP team, outlining their findings and providing recommendations for the program's future development.
