Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) achieved yet another milestone towards the goal of delivering quality education as the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Council granted it associate membership status, thereby giving the university an opportunity to improve its quality assurance system and interact with higher education institutions from the region.

The development reflected TAUโ€™s continuing efforts to align its institutional processes with regional quality assurance practices and pursue continuous improvement in its academic and administrative operations.

โ€œThis milestone reflected our commitment to strengthening quality assurance and advancing the standards of higher education at Tarlac Agricultural University. Through our engagement with AUN-QA, we look forward to learning from regional best practices, building stronger partnerships and continuously improving the quality of education and services we provide to our stakeholders,โ€ TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson said.

Dr. Jerome D. Soriano, director of the Quality Assurance Office, said the Councilโ€™s approval presented opportunities for TAU to participate in capacity-building activities, exchange quality assurance practices and explore institutional or program assessments under the AUN-QA framework.

โ€œApproval for AUN-QA associate membership opened opportunities for TAU to strengthen its quality assurance practices, engage in capacity-building activities and learn from the experiences of other institutions in the region. This helped us further develop our institutional processes and prepare our academic programs for possible assessment in line with AUN-QA standards,โ€ Soriano said.

Through associate membership, institutions could participate in AUN-QA programs and projects, develop joint initiatives with partner organizations, attend professional networking activities and share quality assurance practices. Associate members were also expected to participate in network activities, designate chief quality officers and nominate qualified candidates for assessor training.

The milestone reinforced TAUโ€™s commitment to continuous institutional development and its pursuit of quality education while creating opportunities to strengthen its engagement with regional quality assurance initiatives.
