The activity forms part of the directive requiring all State University and College (SUC) Presidents, Officers In-Charge, and key officials to participate in the national budget process. These deliberations provide a platform to brief the House Committee on Appropriations and Members of the House of Representatives on the financial outlook of their respective institutions, covering major thrusts, ongoing and upcoming programs, significant projects, fund releases, income, and key accomplishments.
In the course of the deliberations, the House Appropriations Committee announced the allocation of โฑ12.3 billion for the full implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. Of this amount, โฑ7.8 billion will be sourced from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), while the remaining allocation will be provided by Congress.
It was further revealed that an additional โฑ9.3 billion has been earmarked for the Tulong Dunong Program and the Tertiary Education Subsidy, reinforcing the governmentโs commitment to expanding access to quality and affordable higher education.
