As enshrined in Resolution No. 37, s. 2025, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) formally welcomed Hon. Virgin Mary A. Nicolas and Hon. Juanito R. Ho as Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) to its Board of Regents (BOR), extending their tenure for another two years, from 30 June 2025 to 30 June 2027.

Said decision was based on the recommendation of the evaluation committee, led by Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo, TAU’s Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA). The team was tasked with assessing the performance of all sitting PSRs. TheyΒ  conducted aΒ  review based on select criteria including accountability, contributions to the University's strategic goals, and adherence to governance principles after the applicants underwent an interview and Public Forum on 19 March.

Both PSRs, who also indicated their intention to seek reappointment, received β€œexcellent” ratings from all the members of the committee after a thorough performance review of their exceptional contributions to the University since 2023. Their proven track record of insightful guidance and commitment to TAU’s mission was cited as a primary reason for the committee’s recommendation.

University President, Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, expressed his joy on the reappointment of the two officials. "I am happy that our two PSRs are joining us for two more years. Their outstanding service and proven commitment have been invaluable assets to our University. We look forward to continuing our collaborative work towards realizing TAU's strategic vision and its transformation into Tarlac Science, Technology, and Agricultural University (TSTAU)."

The BOR serves as the highest policy-making body of the University, and the inclusion of the two PSRs is crucial for bridging academe-industry partnerships.Β

With their renewed mandate, Hon. Nicolas and Hon. Ho are expected to continue providing strategic oversight and fostering innovations that will help guide policies with industry insights and build partnerships that connect TAU to both local and global resources and opportunities.
