In its pursuit of expanding its global reach by exploring potential ties with Canadian institutions, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) joined the Canadian Colleges and Institutes Fair, an event organized by the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines held at Fairmont Hotel in Makati City on 30 October 2025.

TAU was represented by its six college deans, namely Dr. Sinamar E. Estudillo of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF), Dr. Sherwin S. Alar of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and Dr. Erlie SD. Totaan of the College of Business and Management (CBM), Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares of the College of Education (CEd), Dr. Ruben A. Parazo of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), and Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), along with Mr. Jayson J. Elenzano, CET Coordinator and Chief of Technical Services of the Office of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA).

The event featured information sessions, business-to-business meetings, and networking receptions where TAU was able to connect with more than fifteen (15) Canadian institutions present in the event. Through these engagements, opportunities have opened for TAU to pursue potential collaborations on future academic partnerships and student exchange programs with higher education institutions (HEIs) in Canada.

The strong partnership between TAU and several Canadian universities is exemplified by its collaborations with Centennial College (CC) and Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), where TAU has been sending scholars through the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program. Currently, one TAU student is studying in CC while two are in KPU under the program from September 2 to December 20, 2025.
