In a significant move to strengthen its workforce, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) officially administered the oath of office to 61 teaching and non-teaching personnel on 6 January. The simple ceremony, held at the Administration Building Atrium, celebrated new appointments, changes in employment status, and reappointments, highlighting TAU's commitment to rewarding merit and dedication to public service.

The new appointees represent a vital boost to the University's human resources. Among the teaching staff, advancements included five moving from temporary to permanent status, three from Contract of Service (COS) to permanent status, three from COS to temporary status, and 29 reappointments (temporary). They were joined by 21 non-teaching staff who assumed their roles following an exceptionally competitive selection process that attracted over 1,500 applications, as revealed by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Administration, Ms. Yolanda F. Juan.

Presiding over the ceremony, TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson focused his address on a philosophy of genuine excellence. He also advised the inductees to avoid comparison and focus on delivering their personal best.

Meanwhile, the University's vice presidents reinforced this call to service. Dr. Arnold R. Lorenzo, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA), noted the significance of the selection process, saying, "Many are called but few are chosen." Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA), urged the appointees to aim higher and avoid complacency, while Dr. Edmar N. Franquera, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (VPRET), called for a stakeholder-focused approach, aligning with TAU's mission to empower communities.

The event, facilitated by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), was attended by College Deans, Presidents of the United Faculty Association (UFA) and the Non-Teaching Staff Association (NASA), and other University officials.

This oath-taking ceremony marks more than a formal appointment; it is an investment in the people who will drive TAU's future. By securing and promoting deserving talents, the University strengthens its capacity to fulfill its vision of making TAU β€œone of the leading and globally recognized smart agricultural universities.”
