Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) is holding a Mock Accreditation today, 11 September, for its Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) program. The day-long virtual event represents a critical step as the program pursues Level IV Phase 2, Cycle 2 accreditation, a high evaluation level to be awarded by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered College and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).ย
Dr. Silverio Ramon D.C. Salunson, the TAU President,ย urged theย internal accreditors to provide their honest feedback, constructive criticism, and genuine recommendations, in his welcome address delivered by Dr. Edmar Franquera, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (VPRET). โScrutinize our documents thoroughly, for your findings will be the blueprint for our path to official accreditation and,ย ultimately, to even greater heights for CET and TAU,โ Dr. Salunson explained.
Dr. Jerome D. Soriano, the Director for Quality Assurance, also provided an overview of the dayโs objectives, setting the stage for the intensive evaluation ahead. The internal accreditors and area chairs were also formally introduced before Mr. Marlon B. Espedillon, QA Assistant Director, outlined the specific guidelines for the mock accreditation process.ย
The highlight of the event is the detailed narrative report presentation and evaluation, focusing on five key areas: research, performance of graduates, community service, international linkages and consortia, and a well-developed planning process. Each area is spearheaded by a dedicated chairperson and a team of faculty members from CET.
An esteemed panel of internal accreditors is conducting the evaluation, which includes Dr. Noel J. Petero, assessing Research; Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Nardo, reviewing performance of graduates; Dr. Jerome D. Soriano, examining community service; Mr. Marlon Espedillon, evaluating international linkages and consortia; and, Dr. Geraldine B. Dela Cruz, scrutinizing the well-developed planning process.ย
The event will conclude with an exit conference this afternoon, featuring a report of findings and recommendations.ย
