Samar HEI explores partnership with TAU

The delegates from Northwest Samar State University (NWSSU) connected with their counterparts from Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) during the Benchmarking and Partnership Meeting at the Conference Room of the Office of the TAU President on August 22.
Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), served as a resource person on sharing best practices and collaboration prospects in internationalization and ranking. Dr. Ferrer also said that TAU and NWSSU will formalize their inter-institutional agreement by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) later this year.
In his message of commitment, Engr. Rhio C. Dimakiling, Vice President for Administrative Affairs and Financial Services at NWSSU, extended an invitation to TAU administrative council. “When you visit our university, we will return the warm hospitality you showed to us,” Engr. Dimakiling imparted. As a response, Dr. Danilo N. Oficiar, TAU Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, recalled anecdotes on changes and cycles. “There will come a time when we’ll also need your assistance,” Dr. Oficiar shared.
Also in attendance were Dr. Maria Asuncion G. Beltran, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training; Ms. Yolanda F. Juan, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration; Dr. Geraldin B. Dela Cruz, Director of Quality Assurance; Dr. Ruben Parazo, Assistant Director of Planning and Development Office; Dr. Sheila R. Lingaya, ELIA Assistant Director; and Mr. Lyde Ragus, Budget Officer.
According to its website, NWSSU “provides progressive leadership in its areas of specialization.” NWSSU has a main campus in Calbayog City and an extension campus in San Jorge.
